Come As You Were

In August of 2009, my sweet baby girl was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. It’s a pretty unpredictable disease that can make a Mama feel very out of control.  It was navigating the trauma of her diagnosis that I found the healing benefits of Yoga; in fact, my daughter’s middle name is Grace and my business is named for her.

Early on, I realized a great way to feel IN CONTROL was to raise money to find a Cure and since 2012, I have directly and indirectly been a part of creating Events that have raised over 1.2 million dollars across Canada – but still we fight – more than half of the people that lost their lives last year were under the age of 30.

We have a term in our house called Cystic Fibrosis Silverlinings…. while we would give back our girl’s fate a million times over… Silverlinings are experiences and attitudes that we notice would not be in our lives without CF. An urgency to live our lives to the fullest is a #CFSilverlining for sure – and this year I returned to music after a 23 year hitatus because my SOUL needed it! I have the privilege to play in the band The Wait  and was deeply honoured when the members of my band agreed to help us raise some funds for research, advocacy and ultimately a Cure For Cystic Fibrosis.  Click here to grab your tickets for this one-of-a-kind fundraiser!!

As a result of my commitment to find a cure I have the honour of being chosen for a select group to participate in the first ever Worldwide Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History. In May of 2019, I will be climbing Maccu Piccu to raise money to find a cure! To take part in this adventure I have committed to raising a minimum of $4200 that will be invested in life-saving CF research and care. That is only $1 for every Canadian living with CF.
