The holiday season at its roots was created for us to celebrate the quiet of winter, the turning inward and healing of earth.  Over time, it has become quite the opposite; we drink too much, we shop too much, we overwork, overeat, over stimulate… it’s all too much.

And yet, if we stopped to pause we would feel the pull that our ancestors did.  That winter is not unforgiving and cold.  Winter is a time to grow soft and quiet – to descend into our bodies, a winter sleep, to examine our darkness and inner depths.  This culture of too much can make grounding into our bodies a very scary thing; buried emotions, trauma from our past, it’s all tucked away and our body keeps the score.

Yin Yoga is the dark to the light of yoga.  Just as the Winter Solstice calls us inward so does this practice.  Sound is the heartbeat of this healing – the sounds of nature mixed with the vibration of our energies.  Our Winter Solstice Yin & Soundbath will provide you with a opportunity to rest and reflect, to cleanse old energies and plant the seeds of self-care.  This is what winter has always been; a time of reclamation.

Join us for an evening to bring winter back to your life; peace, love, kindness and healing.

Jamie DeKoning of Little Lights Yoga will guide you through a Winter Yin practice.  We will focus on Kidney and Urinary Bladder – the organs connected to winter. This is the back body and inner legs going up to under chest.   Mud & Lotus will accompany Jamie with their healing sounds; sounds of water, sounds of heart, sounds to raise your vibration and release what no longer serves you.

Investment: $35.00 plus gst
